As a new small business owner in Las Vegas you must be overwhelmed with opening up your business and taking care of everything that will help you be successful in your trade.  So the last thing you want to think about is where your customers will be coming from although a big concern and after all they are the reason why you are opening up your business in the first place.  Of course, just opening up your business and hoping that people will come in flocks is a little far fetch.  So what should you do to promote your business?

Marketing would be a good place to start.  If people don’t know about what your business is about then they won’t be able to utilize your services or buy your products because there is no awareness is built towards what you have to offer.  Networking is an aspect of marketing that can create a loyal customer database and help you build relationships with people at local events.  Not only does it give you a chance to meet people who are prospects for your business but it can create word of mouth among these people.  Word of mouth is a very strong marketing tool because people like to try things that their friends and family has used before.  They trust their friends and family so when a product or service is recommended by people that are close to them they are more likely to try that product or service.  The Las Vegas market has many networking events to choose from.  There are networking events for website designers and graphic designers as well as women-based networking events.  A simple search in the Las Vegas Business Press can direct you to over a hundred networking events that take place every day in all areas of Las Vegas and Henderson.

Another wonderful tool that the Las Vegas business community has is Meetup.com.  Meetup.com is utilized all over the world but here in Las Vegas, many small and large businesses used Meetup to find networking groups as well as host their own.  Just logon to Meetup.com, create a simple profile, and start searching for business networking groups and many pop up.  Now the key is trying to manage which meetup events you want to attend as a new business owner.

Another good way to network would be to attend local events that relates to your business.  If you have the power to do it be the one to set up the event.  Attendees will appreciate your efforts and remember your business which creates a strong tie with you and your business.  This in turn will create word of mouth for your business and when they need services or products that you sell they will come to you for what they need.

Verge Marketing Group is a full service marketing company that can help you set up events for your business.  On behalf of Verge Marketing Group, we welcome you to the business community of Las Vegas.  It has proven to be a wonderful community for us and our clients!  We offer many services that can be bundled up or utilized separately depending on what your business needs are.  Please contact us for a free consultation for your business today at (702) 949-0890 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. With technology so prominent in our society now it is crucial for new businesses to have a website.  More and more consumers are using the internet for information searches for products and services that they need.  New businesses are in luck because there are so many web designers out there that can create websites at a low price.  But one thing to keep in mind before hiring just any web designer is to make sure that they understand how important their graphic design is on your brand.  What they do to help you create your brand’s look and feel will affect how people will view your business.

Your brand is connected to everything that is your business.  It will be what your customers and prospects remember about your business.  How the graphic design is set up for your website will be how your company will appear to the world.  The graphic design created by the web designer should be attractive, relevant, and memorable.  Attractive graphic designs will keep visitors on your website longer and encourage exploration of your website to learn more about your products or services.  This could convert into sales of your products or an interest in your services.  Helping you generate business through your website.  The graphic design will have to be relevant to your company because just having an attractive website does not show the prospect or customer what you sale or can do for them.  The graphics will need to be relevant and have a connection with your business in order for the website to be effective.  You’ll want something that is memorable so that even if the visitor does not purchase this time they will remember your brand and company for the future.

When you are ready to create a website for your new business keep those things in mind and you’ll be off to a good start.  Have some fun with it and put some of your personality into it after all it’s your business and your future customers to know why you deserve their business.

In every aspect of life, a good first impression leads to the creation of meaningful relationships.  This is true in your personal and professional life.  That same principle can be applied for a website.  A website’s good first impression is essential to draw in clientele.  If it is a prospect’s first time seeing or coming into contact with your business, your website needs to sell your business to them without your presence.  The website has to appeal to the prospect before they will take any action; whether it be exploring your website to learn more about your business or contacting you for your services or products.

With that said, a web designer is not only an artist but a psychologist as well.  According to Andy Rutledge, writer of Design View, “Just as there are ways that a composer can communicate sadness or anger in music, just as a painter can communicate confusion on the canvas, just as an actor can communicate love or adoration without speaking, the web designer can communicate on the web page with layout, form, color and theme” (Rutledge).  A good web designer will be able to use all those characteristics to convey what your business can do for your prospects and clients.  So how do these things come together to help your business’ website make a good impression?  George Cleanthous, author of “The Psychology of Web Design”, “We are able to take a fairly accurate impression very quickly.  In fact, in 2006 the BBC News website reported on a study which showed that the brain makes decisions in just 20th of a second of viewing a webpage” (Cleanthous).  People who come upon your web page will receive a very quick first impression about your website and company without exploring it.  It is important that all parts of your website make a good first impression for those who view it because when prospects are searching they might encounter different parts of your website and just because you make a good first impression it does not mean that other parts of your website can be sloppy.  In fact, Cleanthous says, “The first impression is then carried over to other parts of the website, like content and professionalism” (Cleanthous).

This is where psychology comes into play.  A person searching for something will come across a website new to him/her and their mind will immediately recognize a combination or general human psychological and website design factors (Cleanthous).  What a web designer does is manipulate the content and images on a website to make it appeal to its target market.  Keep these things in mind when you want to create a website for your business or if you already have a website have your web designer think about the psychological side of things.  Verge Marketing Group specializes in web design, branding, and company image.  They can be reached at www.vergemarketinggroup.com or (702) 949-0890.
